What good tracking looks like
- Under 30% — your cursor is mostly missing. Lower your sensitivity.
- 30–50% — average. Workable.
- 50–70% — solid. Above the average gamer.
- 70–85% — very good. FPS-pro adjacent.
- 85%+ — elite. Most pro-tier tracking scores.
Keep your cursor on the moving target. 15 seconds. Higher % is better.
Different from click-aim. Smooth pursuit is the eye-and-arm tracking that keeps a moving target under your crosshair continuously. It engages the cerebellum heavily for predictive motion control, plus the parietal cortex for moment-to-moment spatial updating.
Tracking is what beam-style games like Overwatch (Soldier, Sojourn) and Apex (R-99, Volt) demand. Click-aim (the regular aim trainer) is for tap fire and headshots. The two are partially separate skills — train both.
